Linguistic QA/Terminology Specialist, London
An exciting opportunity to join
the well-established Linguistic Services team in our busy London office.
Your role as a full time
Linguistic QA/Terminology Specialist will cover two interlinked
parts of the localization process: quality management and terminology/brand
asset management.
The QA aspect includes
reviewing multi-language translation projects for overall consistency and
quality. You will also carry out layout checks on typeset material and functional
online QA to ensure that the localized end-product matches the format and
functionality of the original.
The terminology/brand
asset management side of the role involves maintaining translation memory and
glossary databases with constantly updated localized content and reviewing
changes and requests from local markets.
You will have experience
in the area of Linguistic QA and/or Terminology, fluency in a language other
than English and the ability to proofread in your native language. A good
understanding of translation technologies is essential, as is excellent
attention to detail with a good sense for consistency and accuracy.

The Role
As a freelance International PPC Campaign Manager, you will work with the in-house SEM team in our London office to create, configure, run and report on paid search campaigns in your native language and dominant search engine. You will provide services on an hourly basis at a pre-agreed fee.
The Candidate

Localization Process Engineering Consultant Opportunity
Wordbank requires a competent, customer-facing process consultant to work with a client in Asia on integrating centralized marketing and localization processes. On offer is a 6-month contract which will involve travel between Asia and London, visits to the client and partners in Asia and regular communication across the Asian time zone. We anticipate that execution of the task will require about 5-6 days per month (approx. 1-2 days per week) with an initial intense, two-week period of training and familiarization with Wordbank in London.
The preferred candidate will:
- Have a good understanding of the localization industry and processes
- Have experience and a track record in managing centralization projects
- Have strong consultative, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Have a good understanding of and experience in dealing with business and cultural issues in Asia, as well as the dynamics of a US-based multinational corporation
- Be comfortable working in multicultural and global teams
- Be highly organized and have the ability to grasp complex strategic issues
- Have worked extensively in Asia and be fluent in Japanese or Mandarin and English.
The position will receive direction from and report to Wordbank’s strategic account manager in London. Commencement subject to successful interview will start as soon as possible but within the next calendar month.
